Doherty Employer Services Receives Prestigious Industry Awards at
National Trade Event

Alexandria, Va. (June 3, 2004) — Doherty Employer Services, Inc. received three prestigious industry awards on May 25 during a national trade conference in the Nation’s capital. The awards recognize that Doherty Employer Services has achieved the highest levels for specific performance practices of professional employer organizations (PEOs) as verified by independent certification organizations.

Doherty Employer Services is one of the first 20 PEOs to receive the “PEO Tax & Benefits Payment Certification” from the Certification Institute (CI), an independent nonprofit corporation that promotes industry professionalism and best practices. The company also received CI’s “Workers Compensation Risk Management Certification” and is one of the first 11 PEOs to earn this certification.

In addition, Doherty Employer Services was recognized for the company’s accreditation by the Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC), the nationally recognized entity for providing financial assurance and establishing responsibility standards and certification for the PEO industry.

The awards were presented during an annual conference of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). The conference brought PEO executives together with federal and state regulators and legislators to discuss legal and legislative issues, including best practices for PEOs.

Doherty Employer Services underwent a rigorous examination by the CI and ESAC to achieve the awards. CI independently verified that the company meets its tax and benefits obligations in a timely and appropriate matter. CI also verified that the company’s risk management program is meeting proven insurance industry risk management practices to reduce work-related accidents and health exposures and control workers’ compensation costs.
